Snowshoeing in National Parks

A favorite winter activity of locals and visitors alike is snowshoeing in the Greater Tahoe Area! Several Ski resorts in Lake Tahoe offer snowshoeing on their grounds. Northstar California in Lake Tahoe has miles of well-established trails and chairlifts up to the trailheads. They also offer day and night snowshoe tours and rentals. For more information, visit Northstar California.

For experienced snowshoers and outdoorsmen, try venturing out on the trails in Tahoe National Forest, Desolation Wilderness or El Dorado National Forest. Or opt to try the Mount Rose Trail near Incline Village in Tahoe! This hike offers a great trail with waterfalls, alpine lakes and a view of Lake Tahoe. For a dog friendly trail, try Chickadee Ridge, which offers great views of the Desolation Wilderness and Lake Tahoe!
