Gold Rush Live Festival – October

Experience the living history of the Gold Rush Era. Every year, the past comes to modern day life at Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma. Step back in time to a vibrant and bustling tent town inhabited by miners, gamblers, a doctor, a pharmacist, pioneer cooks, craftsmen, storytellers and musicians!

Visit a post office, assay office, carpentry shop, blacksmith, mining camp, bakery, candy shop and general store. Activities include kids’ games, tin punching, candle dipping, rope making and more. There will be wagon rides, a saloon where you can grab some spirits or a sarsaparilla, a portrait studio for old time photos, and plenty more.

This event is free, and you can save the parking fee and avoid the traffic hassle by walking the short distance from American River Resort to the park.

Book a cabin or RV site along the historic South Fork American River and make it a complete Gold Rush adventure by trying your own luck and panning for gold on the river! For more event info, call the park museum at 530-622-3470 or visit their website.
